A man who authorities said was keeping weapons and military-style gear in his hotel room and car appeared in court Thursday on charges he threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Raymond Hunter Geisel, 22, was arrested by the Secret Service on Saturday in Miami and was ordered held at Miami's downtown detention center without bail Thursday by a federal magistrate.
A Secret Service affidavit charges that Geisel made the threat during a training class for bail bondsmen in Miami in late July. According to someone else in the 48-member class, Geisel allegedly referred to Obama with a racial epithet and continued, "If he gets elected, I'll assassinate him myself."

truly speaking, i don't think Barack Obama is safe now and i think it will be even worse if he becomes the president of the United States of America. He just have to be extra careful if he really wants to play this game of politics.

If you guys did a little research into 9/11 and then just got interested and kept teacjing yourself/learning more and more about the truth you would realise a few things
1. He came from no where and is now in politics, I don't even think he was born in America. Just who is he?
2. If you look at DUMB's (deep underground millitary bases) you will learn that all the stuff that happens on the surface of the planet is truly a joke. It is all pre-aranged and planned many years ahead.

So if Barack wanting to die (to get closer to what he thinks is a real satan/devil) then no he isnt safe. However I'm sure in good time you people will learn and see the truth unfold.

Yeah, he will have to look over his shoulders every second of the rest of his life now. There are many people that take a shining to destroying people with even the slightest hint of power.

Why he would ever want to destroy his life this way is beyond me. Perhaps he has a calling!

Anybody who will and might be the future leader of the most power nation in the world will always get a death treat domestic or foreign.
The reason why do we see and hear this kind of reports is that Barack Obama is an idealist who can make changes to make things good. Some people does not want change and they will not adopt to changes and they will do everything to stop or alter the changes that might happen.

Many people are just pretending as if Obama is safe but Barack Obama himself knows for sure he is not safe now and there is no guarantee he will be safe tomorrow. It takes real courage to make a history and I think Mr. Obama is such a courageous man to have come this far. However, having courage doesn't guarantee security and there is always risk taking anytime and anywhere courage is at display.

Obama is safe now and he will be even safer if he becomes the president of the United States. Of course many people hate Barack Obama for one reason or the other but remember Barack Obama is not the only person facing this condition. Many important personalities in America also face the safe situation. McCain might be safe now because nobody was caught threating to kill him but that doesn't mean that everybody loves McCain.

He's not 100% safe but neither is Bush or any other president for that matter.

I think he might be a bit more at risk though than the other politicians but with time he will become more accepted if he does win and won't have to be as fearful.

Oh thank goodness. When I read the article title I thought it was going to be another one of those crazy "he's a terrorist" rants. Sleeves were up and ready for a duke out. But I do think that if he wins, he is going to be the most fiercly hated president by certain groups.

If Barrack Obama becomes the president, my gut feeling says he will, then he would be the first black to become one.
there are fanatics who wouldn't want this to happen.
Plus you have so many terror outfits who as it is would want to attack the president.
I feel that he is much safer.

If people hate you very much they will do almost anything to stop you. Nobody is perfectly safe no matter who they are and how much bodyguards they have. I am convinced that some people seriously don't want Obama to be elected as the President mainly because of his race. This means that Obama has a lot of enemies. It depends on how the people accept him if he gets elected later.

I think that if Barack Obama was to become the president of the US, there will be no doubt a lot of assassination attempts from many people.

Him being the new president will be a huge change from the traditional white president to the first black + minority president.

But don't let that excuse be the one to justify his security.

I am not too sure on this as we are getting even closer to knowing that he is going to be the next president. I am sure that if he wins there is going to be a ton of measures taken to ensure that he will be safe. I would say he is just a little less safe then Bush has been the past eight years.

now finally he has become the president of united states. obviously now he will be under the protection of strict security. so i think there are hardly any chances for such situations to occur in future.
