Default Violence in Cote D'Ivoire - Conflict in Ivory Coast

The Forbes magazine yesterday ranked Ghana my beloved country as the eleventh friendliest nation on earth which is a very good sign Ghana is doing great. Ghana is doing great but some of our neighboring countries are doing very bad. Cote D'Ivoire or Ivory Coast is a west African country with a population of about 21 million people. Cote D'Ivoire borders Ghana to the East but unlike Ghana, Cote D'Ivoire has experienced a great deal of turmoil these couple of years. The country was beginning to get back on its feet but the wicked Laurent Gbagbo said NO just a couple of weeks ago.
Elections were held about 4 months ago and the president-elect Ouattara won the elections but Laurent Gbagbo(another madman of Africa) has refused to step down as the president of Ivory Coast so Quattara can take over. UN, ECOWAS, AU and all the other international organizations recognize Quattara as the new president of Ivory Coast but the wicked-minded Laurent Gbagbo has refused to step down instead has put Ivory Coast back into civil war. More than 400,000 have fled the country into refugee camps in neighboring countries such as Liberia, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Burkina Faso, etc. with the death toll very close to 1000. With international communities busy focusing on Libya and Japan, people continue to die in record numbers in Ivory Coast and it is beginning to affect the entire region. Laurent Gbabgo just like Gadhafi has nothing good to offer and MUST leave.

So far there are more than 100,000 Ivorian refugees in Liberia alone which is putting so much pressure on the poor Liberians and to make matters worse, some of the Gbabgo-paid idiots have started causing trouble along the Ivorian-Liberian border destroying villages and raping young girls in some cases which is very sad. I just pray the international community takes this crisis serious and send in some help before it spreads to other parts of the region.

I will be posting updates from time to time.
