President Obama hates Kenya his Ancestral home?

The race is over and Obama is now the President elect. Throughout the 21 months of campaigning, Barack Obama mentioned Kenya less than 10 times and anytime He mentions Kenya, there after comes the word "abandoned". Kenyans love Obama with all their heart. They love him as a true son of Africa but can we say wholeheartedly that Barack Obama loves Kenya? Barack Obama may love Africa because He is an African but do you think Barack Obama truly loves Kenya as his ancestral home? Obama's Father Mr. Obama abandoned the poor Obama junior when Obama was just two years old. Obama grew up with his grandparents. What do you think? Obama visited Kenya only when he needed votes. He visited his ancestral home carrying a sack on his back so he could take photographs. What do you think? Kenyans are looking up to their true son but what will Obama do? what do you think?

Barack Obama is not a true son of Kenya. Only his father was Kenyan while his mother was a white American. Despite being half Kenyan and half American, Obama spent his childhood in Indonesia until age ten before moving to his granparents' house. So I guess he has never really experienced Kenya and he doesn't miss Kenya. But that doesn't mean he hate Kenya. He just don't really care about it.

Well, what makes Barack Obama an "African American" is the fact that his father is an African and a Kenyan for that matter. One thing you should know is that Americans have unilateral lineage. One inherits from both maternal and paternal sides. Unlike America however, Kenyans go by the Paternal lineage or the patrilineal inheritance. Your father's clan determines your clan in Kenya and in certain parts of Africa. Your mother's side of the family are your relatives alright but they do not determine who you are. In this case, Obama's mother's side is not all that important compared to his father's side and hence Kenyans classify Barack Obama as a true son of Africa and a true son of Kenya for that matter. Even in my country Ghana, Some people inherit patrilineally while others inherit matrilineally but not both.

That's very true
He may have Kenya in his blood, but apart from that he hasn't much to do with them. At heart he is an American or Indonesian
But I certainly wouldn't say he hates Kenya, he seems to use the whole Kenya thing to his advantage to get votes

Understand that Barack Obama is an American first. He just happened to have a Kenyan father who abandoned him when he was only a year old. there is no wonder that he don't have much love for the country of his father. If I were in his shoes, I would have hated Kenya for being the land of my father who abandoned me.

But Obama isn't African, Kofi. He isn't even technically African American, he is of mixed race, coming from a Kenyan father and a Caucasian mother. He has not spent an overwhelming amount of time in Kenya, and ultimately he is American, and was fighting to win an American position of power.

Why would you expect him to mention Kenya more often during his campaign? I am sure he has great affection for your country, but in the end his allegiance is to his own, and there is nothing surprising or wrong about that.

The problem with Americans is that: Anybody who is not hundred percent white is a person of color. Another problem is that, anybody who is not white is considered as black because America is bi-racial and there is no chance for any other race. Either black or white. Obama is not hundred percent white and hence Obama is black and what makes Obama black is the fact that he is of Kenyan ancestry.

He's the AMERICAN president, it shouldn't matter if he likes Kenya. I've probably got some French and German in me, doesn't mean i have to like the countries, just because he is black doesn't make it any different. All that matter is the whole of Africa has problems and if he is a good person, he will try to help.

I'm sorry, but Obama is "not Kenyan", he's American now. Once American, always American. Barely any Americans stay loyal to their "true" religions and or cultures. It's a shame though.

Barack Obama is first an foremost a politician. His race and views will be almost entirely on the whims of the American People. If there were a sudden social focus on the problems of Kenya and Africa such as Aids or war or whatever else that would spring him into motion. I believe all politicians are almost entirely worthless human beings and will only work towards something with some benefit for them such as popularity or party support.

He was abandoned by his father and hardly ever lived in Kenya. Being brought up by his mother means he could care less about the lineage of his dead beat Dad

I believe he's simply an American that's the way how it is in the united states
people come from different parts of the world to America but once they start a life they consider themselves Americans .............just Americans

I would like to see Obama pay a lot more attention to the plights of Africans. But there has to be some give and take. I don't know the extent of aid coming from the united states but I know it is substantial.
I would like to see much more aid going to this 3rd world nation. But if Africans are unwilling to change some of their harmful ways to children especially I don't see that ever happening.
