Dangerous Floods Hit East Africa - Kenya, Somalia, Uganda and Tanzania

Floods in Kenya killed at least six people and left dozens missing. The floods which hit parts of Kenya also washed more then 200 cattle and left hundreds of people homeless, Police said. The country's Red Cross said the flood which hit Nakuru have drowned three people while other three were washed away by floods in Marsabit

"Those killed in Marsabit are young children who were washed away as they played in an open field in Dukana area”, AFP news agency quoted a police officer.

"We have received reports of people missing and over 2,000 cattle heads washed away. People have been advised to move to higher grounds because we don't know how soon the rains will go away," the police officer added.

At least 500 people living in Garbatula region of Eastern Province were homeless after the torrential rains flooded up to 100 houses, according to the Red Cross report.

Police has also evacuated about 550 tourists from 10 tourist lodges and hotels in Samburu and Isiolo, where floods affected.

The heavy rains already hit other eastern Africa nations, including Somalia, Uganda and Tanzania.
