Regardless of which one it is, coffee always works. If the coffee isn't working, try a red bull or some other energy drink. If the coffee and energy drinks don't work, then I suggest you stop whatever you're doing and go to sleep LOL. When I have to pull all-nighters, I find that in addition to drinking lots of coffee, walking outside to get a breath of fresh air helps. |

Well, I hope your exam's over now.
However, here's a tip I can share on how to keep you awake. Long hours of reading or in front of the computer will sometimes make you feel sleepy. So I suggest to take eye breaks once in awhile. Focus on a distant point for at least 20 seconds to give your eyes some exercise and to allow them to refocus.

I was working in Riyadh at a world famous exhibition center as the graphics manager and had to work very hard as assignments came non-stop before and during the exhibitions. It required me to keep awake 2 staright days (without sleeping for even a moment), and at least twice 3-straight days! I had absolutely no sleep during those "days"! My company's owner used to come to me frequently with a glass of water in which a tablet of Vitamin-C was dissolved, and would coax me to drink it!
That "potion" worked miracles! I never slept for those durations! It worked every time... but then I left that company after 1 year... I had almost forgotten what sleep was!

Sleeping is important for good health and nobody should force themselves to stay awake for too long. Your body needs to rest. If you want to stay awake during busy times such as exams, make sure you still get enough rest. If you want to study throughout the night, make sure you sleep at daytime. Caffeine is not recommended although if necessary you may take it. Don't make drinking coffee to stay awake a habit though.

For me to stay up is pretty simple. All I need to do is constantly be eating and drinking. I am a slim guy so I have a fast metabolism so if I just constantly am eating beef jerky or nuts or even trail mix and drinking a cup of tea I can pull an altogether no problem. Being in college I have to do it once to twice a week to get everything done.

I'm sure your already aware that coffee and some energy drinks will keep you awake. But did you that fruits and veggies do the same thing without the sudden collapse.
I've never tried to pull an all nigher on them but in the afternoon when I start to feel a drag I'll nibble on some brocoli and Ranch and it gives me a much needed boost of energy. |

1. Coke, drink lots of it, when I need to stay up late, Coke is my best friend... Oh wait, I drink a lot of coke anyway :p
2. Play some loud, upbeat music, ambient and slow music will do nothing, if not worsen the situation Contrary to what some have said, I wouldn't eat, I get quite sleepy on a full stomach |

Coffee is the best way for me to stay awake. If it don't work, you can try drinking ginseng tea too. Similarly, red bull and energy drinks help too. Besides drinking, I think you can try taking a break from what you are doing whenever possible and do something interesting to help you stay awake. For me, I'll keep the music on and maybe take a break to play some game once a while to keep myself from feeling too sleepy.

Red bull is a great energy drink to keep you awake. it has a lot of caffeine in it. they say the caffeine content in a Red bull is equivalent to that of 20 cups of coffee. it worked great for me. there are some other brands of energy drinks too. You can experiment among them and choose the one which suits your taste.

the best way to stay awake: Taking tea or Coffee or apple will do. mostly here in Chennai (India) we take Tea or coffee to keep our selves to stay awake
There is important thing is: only 2 cup should be taken or you'll feel giddy & fall sick. Coffee & tea are not good for health. a cup a day will do no harm. Some say juice will be the the best way to stay awake.

You cannot cheat nature. Sleep is part of our life cycle. You cannot experience life without enough sleep. You are just killing yourself if you take in anything just to keep you awake. Do all you can when you can and give in to nature when sleep comes along. Don't try to cheat on nature because you are killing yourself. Anytime you feel like sleeping, just go get yourself some sleep because it is not your fault that you are feeling sleepy. He who sleeps good thinks good.

I have many methods of staying awake. One I get a lot of caffeine into my system, energy drinks work the best. I also try slapping myself really hard, but sometimes that just makes my face red. Also if I'm home I will take a hot shower to wake me up!

If were talking about the healthiest way then Yerba mate or Guayusa. Like i explained in the coffee/tea thread coffee has many health damaging properties such as vaso-constriction, ruining adrenal health etc.
These 2 herbs have amazing nutritional quality such as high vitamin, mineral content as well as high caffeine are different they don't give you the crash associated with caffeine and support your adrenal function. Energy drinks are the worst their full of sugar, caffeine in ridiculous quantities in some brands and other preservatives which all will have detrimental effect on health. |

get plenty of sleep the night before. Always have sweets to chew on, it helps you stay awake but never eat a big meal because it makes you drowsy. Only you start getting desperate drink coffee or tea, you need to remember that the caffeine will wear off and you will feel worse.

I have passed this situations many times. There are many ways to stay awake, the first priority is to wash your face with cold water and then drink tea or coffee at the intervals of 1-2 hours . This will surely help you out .
