Is it safe to Drink your own Urine?

I know this might sound very stupid to some people but I do know many people who do drink their own urine for one reason or the other. According to some people, it is medically beneficial to drink your own urine. It is a normal practice somewhere across the deserts of Africa where water is very scarce. In fact some doctors recommend drinking a little bit of your own urine. Just recently in the news, scientist have been able to build a machine that makes urine drinkable inside spaceships to save space travelers some water. What do you think? Is it safe to Drink Urine?

Hi, my friend. I don't think it is stupid to drink your urine. It depends. Imaging that you are in the desert, there is no water and no rain fall. How could you survive? Drink your urine! Even you drink your urine, you are not guaranteed to survive in the horrible desert. I know in the Chinese medical book, the urine of the young boy without having sex is a good medicine. Amazing? It is not safe and that is why it comes out of the body. In fact, it is toxic or poisonous if you want me to put it that way. Why would someone want to drink urine when there is water available? urine isn't good and that is why it comes out of the body. Urine is good for plants but not for human beings

It is safe to drink your own blood because anytime I get a cut on my finger the first thing I do is to put it in my mouth and suck the blood till the pain disappears. As for drinking urine I am not sure though some Indian tribes drink their own urine as part of their culture.

How about sitting in your own urine? Is that safe? Sometimes I sit in these damn adult diapers for hours before I change them. Though it does chap my tail from time to time, everything seems to be ok.

Have you tried it Kofi? Make a video of it if you do. I guarantee it would be sure to draw a crowd. Now put the bong down and come back. We all know that urine is waste, as mentioned. Though I dare say it may be safer than some of these soft drinks on the market.

urine consists high concentration of nitrogen wastes which are excreted from the body. So by drinking you are putting risk on kidneys with heavy load and harm your health

I agree with you. You may convert the urine back to water by eliminating those harmful excretory products but different raw urine isn't just nasty but harmful as well.

Simon your are correct, but only slightly. If you are in a survival situation and you are stuck with no water...the only way to survive IS TO DRINK YOUR OWN URINE. However you cannot repeat the process more than twice. This is when the toxins from your liver are recirculated and will harm you. Perhaps you should overcome your own fears before speaking about something to which you obviously don't know about. If you want to live and be free...DRINK YOUR PEE...but only when absolutely necessary. And if you think I'm lying...go watch discovery channel sometime.

Kinda reaching down deep into the bag Kofi for a little conversation? So this is discussing a world African Issue is it? My, my. had no idea this was important in the African culture. What does it taste like? Hot tea? I think up here where I live it would be more like iced tea. Don't think I'll talk about this much more for I kinda got a wheezy sensation in my stomach. I know what it's like to re-eat some of the puke from the top end. Not too tasty but it didn't kill me. Rather acid tasting if I remember. We got one more hole to cover yet and thats the one where the hamburger looking stuff comes out. However sometimes it has the appearance of a nice round looking brown hot dog. Now I wonder if one is not thirsty but hungry if that could be re-eaten? Maybe with a urine wash and a few condiments for flavor it might not be bad. I wonder! Eat it raw or refried? I suppose if it's recycled it should be refried. What do you think? Any input into this matter would be very welcome indeed. Yes sir re-sir Kofi has some real interesting subjects she touches on at times.
