Is Circumcision of male infants a desirable medical procedure?

For many circumcision of male infants is required for religious reasons. For others it is done for strictly cosmetic reasons. Some point to reduced chance of infection as a reason, while others simply want the baby to "look like daddy" So is circumcision an outdated barbaric religious practice or a desirable medical procedure? Or is it simply a scam for doctors to get more money by performing an unnecessary procedure? Is it fair to deprive baby boys of their foreskin? Would you allow your son to be circumcised? why or why not?

as an LPN I can tell you circumcision is a good healthy thing to do for your son. It helps keep the "penis" clean because the foreskin can be moved for cleaning well and it does deter cancer and also bacteria from growing.

No, it is not a desirable procedure Unless in some specific cases which need medical attention. Let the phenomena be natural. Nature's creations are always better than what we do. That's why we call nature as mother nature.!!!

I doubt your depriving the baby of anything, at that age i don't really aware you have a foreskin, let alone what it's for. As far as i understand it's relatively painless and doesn't have any adverse effect. So why shouldn't people?
