Yeah, it's right that we need to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day, but that really is too much for non-water drinker like me. I'm fond of other fluids like soda, fruit juices, anything that is really flavored, except beer and other alcoholic beverages which I do refrain a little bit. When I started having UTIs, I was advised by the doctor to drink a lot of water or at least 6 glasses a day to help out in cleansing the system. It was really tough on me, I started out with 2-3 glasses of pure water a day and now am settling with around 9-10 glasses. Hurray to me!
