Exclamation Condom as the main protection from HIV/AIDS

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) promotes use of condom as the main protection from getting infected with HIV/AIDS. Do you agree with this?

NO i don't agree with them. Where do you get HIV? from an infected person, RIGHT! HIV is not airborne. You get HIV and AIDS being stupid.

You will only get HIV if you will have sex, blood transfer to name a few.

You know that if you will have sex with a prostitute or to a person you just meet in a club there is a big risk in getting HIV or STD. But you take the risk and follow your urge! In any case you are putting yourself in harms way! Even a condom will not do you good.

Use your self control.

I guess so, since condoms prevents direct contact from secretions which could possible transmit the virus especially if your partner has it. So, to get more protection, better use two condoms at a time to save yourself in case of breakage!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention promote numerous strategies for HIV/AIDS prevention. Simply spreading the message to use condoms, and nothing else, would be irresponsible and dangerous.

There are many ways people are exposed to the HIV virus, but if sexual contact is an individual's most obvious risk factor, then, yes, using a condom is an important safety measure. Not everyone is willing to abstain from sexual activity, so they must have access to accurate information about disease prevention. I think people should be aware that using condoms is a good way to prevent the spread of STDs-- but also that they are not 100% foolproof.

AIDS is a multi factorial disease which does not spread only with the sexual contact. And if any organization promotes only the usage of condoms for protection against AIDS, that's not right actually.

Do the Disease control organizations provide info on how to use sterilized and disposable syringes to prevent blood transfusion which can also cause AIDS?

Focusing on just one factor and trying to prevent the spread of disease is not a right decision. And condoms are not very safe method too, there are some other drugs and methods which prevent the spread in females.

I think that the CDC should also recommend getting routinely tested for STD's if you are sexually active. It is a shame that you should have to, but it will keep you and your partners safe so why not? Condoms are only one part of the equation, more education is needed to cut down the amount of HIV floating around.
