Default Recycling at work places - Do you recycle at work?

We just got a few recycle bins at the office and was just wondering how many other people recycle at work? I think its a good idea. In the week that we got ours they have been emptied once already.

I think it is a brilliant idea and more workplaces should encourage it if we all do a little then it will add up to a lot.

I agree with your statement but you really didn't answer the question if you recycle at work From what I was told it really doesn't cost the Company anything to offer a recycle program.

The company I work at currently does not recycle. I worked for the state my last job and they had a big recycling program. You could bring your stuff from home to get recycled.

I'm working now in an ISO recommended company where lot of measures were taken to clean our environment. Our colleagues are already following this technique.A lot of trainings are also organised in our campus to aware the employees about how to become eco-freiendly.I love to go through different techniques or ways to save our environment.

I remember when I was still working for a manufacturing plant that we are recycling those sheets of aluminum. The owner is selling it to the factory that produces them and thus he would get some cheap aluminum in replace of it.

I think the most things that I've ever recycled in my working place (the teacher's office) will be the wasted papers and ball pens...

Beside that, we also will organize a "recycle week" every month, this for teaching the students learn to recycle in their childhood...

its nice to see that some many people work for companies that support recycling. One day it would be nice to see all companies have a recycle program.

well i recently came across a famous study material for Gre and was very impressed by the fact that they had used recycled paper for the book. This was not only eco-friendly but cost-effective as well. Since then i also stack up the unused/extra/half-used papers and sheets and then use them at a later time.

I think recycling at work is a good idea. There are usually a lot of papers and the sort that are used in every day work so it would be a good idea to have a paper recycling service.

I know I am guilty of printing a 100 page document that I only used a few times. Seems like some people loving to print everything and just throw it in the trash.. Its sad and one day I hope it will change.

Yeah we do... It's required in NYC, which is a good thing! Hopefully more communities will start doing that.

Very cool. Since it is required does the city offer it for free as a service or do you have to find somewhere to recycle the computer for you?

I do recycle scrap papers like using them for printing, writing on or sometimes sell them. There's a mall in our area where they conduct recycling market. They buy old news papers, scrap papers, bottles, plastics and the like. All you'll earn some out of those thrash!

I think its a good idea, and not just to recycle all the papers, but also to use an eco-friendly product, like a cleanser for the window and the floor.

I practice recycle at office. Only paper-base product that come in my mind.
Using duplex printers is also a good practice. If your office does not have a duplex printer, use the blank page for draft print. Of course nobody wants to share drinking paper cup !

Recycling at work is not an easy job as quality of work is important. If you use recycled paper which is not of good quality then it may harm your prospects of getting an offer.
I still make it a point to use half filled A4 sheets at home to save paper and use CFL lamps at my desk.

Now recycling is a good thing and has been started where i work finally. There is only one problem; I don't think they realize you can't recycle everything. They have taken all the bin away and only have paper and plastic recycling facilities. We have to hoard all our other rubbish, take it home with us and dispose of it ourselves.

They have gone a little over the top but had there hearts in the right place

Yes, at my work we do recycle pretty much everything. We have a huge recycling bin in our backyard where it all goes and then the recycling people show up and take it away, it probably gives some kind of tax cut to the owner but who cares. It helps the environment so everyone should recycle!

I’m a little disappointed to admit to you all that our office does not participate in any recycling program. Indeed, all our rubbish goes straight into bin bags which are then thrown into the main big wheelie bins outside. I think it would be so easy for us to recycle things like paper and card too considering how much we throw away, this could be very much worthwhile – I may suggest it to my manager.

Of course because we don't want more pollution. At office all staff must use recycle paper for work. With this little job hopefully we can reduce pollution and surely can cut the cost of operation.

I have to admit that I do not recycle at work. My lunch break is short enough as it is. I don't have time to seperate all that stuff and get back to work in time. At home, it's a different story. I have several bins in my house and I like everything to be in place for the time when the garbage man arrives. Also my friend got a really fat fine for not reclycling. That's why I started I guess.

Recycling of paper is definitely a big part in my office...I guess thats the major aspect of it. Other office waste is not part of any recycling though. Awareness about recycling is quite big however, with notices and posters plastered in places...
I think its important to practice recycling in the face of diminishing natural resources and pollution levels that we face today, it would be foolish to ignore it.

In our office, we use a paperless fax to minimize the paper waste. And we just use recycled paper for the reports and still use it as scratch before disposing in it in our paper bin and they will recycled it again. We promote go green in our office.

Recycling is one of the most rapidly and successfully evolving procedures of environmental conservation. This is really an efficient way to save the environment also. Recycling aids in conserving the resources available for the future generations to come. I like it very much and all other environment friendly products.

Yes I like the recycling process cvery much as recycling is the key to confronting global warming and reducing the effects of green house gases.A great advantage of recycling is that it conserves energy resources, such as coal and petroleum deposits.

Cool Re: Recycling at work places - Do you recycle at work?

I'm still in school, but we have recycling options in school. We put our paper in a paper recycling bin (i mean, what else do we do in the classroom?) At our town's elementary school, they encourage us to recycle at lunch. I think it's a good idea to recycle at work and at home.
