With the Internet you can research the best trees to plant, providing the most benefits such as growing faster, and helping the air quality advantage faster. Research also helps you choose tree choices for a certain weather related areas. I was listening to a program about gardening this morning here in the Cleveland area. A lady said she planted a tree she brought up from TN. The gardener explained that the tree might die if we have below 0 temps for more than a few days in a row. Well here in Cleveland that kind of winter weather is very common, so I wish the lady the best for that tree. This example shows how important doing your research in choosing the best trees for your area. One thing I have to point out is how much new construction sites usually just plant small low maintenance pine trees. After taking out a forest of trees to build, it is beyond logic to think that you are giving back very much at all with those replacement trees. There needs to be much more green considered in higher quality trees that actually do help the air we breathe. We now have way too many new and old developments taking over way too much land across the United States, plus add in the forest fires, and you have lots of green destroyed per year. Much lower quality trees are planted back in, that actually does not provide what nature did before it was destroyed. I think this has to be analyzed in very recent years to come as they keep taking out more forests, or as cities add trees. They need to consider choosing trees of higher quality to the air we breathe than just small pine trees. |

I live in the country side. We do have a lot of tree's around. But it does not stop there. Since roads are being built everywhere. What i would suggest is to plant and put trees along the highway. Since cars emits CO2 why not use this harmful pollutant to be convert into oxygen by a tree or a plant. |

Well i would certainly love to do it. the only problem being that in our neighbourhood, there is virtually no place for plantation of a tree. Moreso, even the existing ones are in the danger of felling down in order to expand the road and living area. I think more than planting a tree, we must stop the uncontrolled growth of the human race!

Planting trees is something that actively counters the immense amounts of deforestation that we are facing at the moment. Every ten seconds, acres of forest are cut down to meet the needs of the growing world population. So that's why there are communities out there who have decided to take a stand and organize tree planting events - for example in Australia where I live a month or so ago all children of all schools in a local area set off to plant some 1000 trees in their area.

It is a policy in the City where I live that when you cut a tree you should replace it with 10. In other words, you should plant 10 trees to replace the other. And I've tried to join once in tree planting activity. I guess it's a great way to protect the environment as well as the eco-system.

trees are the one which giveshadow, oxygen, rain and for home for thousands of insects.... which leads to eco-system and finally tree ends it life and decomposes into manure for the soil and again it give life to the seeds... and the cycle continuesso one should know the importance of trees and we have to make life worth by living with trees... from now on every one should plant at least 2-3 trees for better tomorrow.

Great idea! We have greenery all around our home and we have also planted trees. A new garden is springing up. It's so much fun and pure happiness to see those little shrubs growing. Watering those small plants in the evening is a favorite activity for us. Yes, it is lovely to have new trees. It feel great to see those seeds growing into fine plants. It feels as if they are laughing and playing in the breeze and calling you to join their fun.
Cannot really express these lovely feelings into words!

I live in Oregon and we are surrounded by trees which is probably a main part of the reason that smog is such a small problem here.
So I'm for planting a tree or two they do help clear the air and in the summer their a great source for shade. |

Yup, planting a tree could really help our much-abused environment. I've participated in various mountain hiking before, and we could see a really big patch of land, in the middle of a green forest, denuded. Logs scattered on the ground still lay in heaps, since the people cutting those trees ran and hid when they learned that we were coming. There should be a tough law to prosecute these illegal loggers, this is the only way we could preserve our forests, don't you think so?

planting a tree is really important if we would like to save our environment. it helps clean up the air that we breath, and provides a whole lot of advantageous effects. it would help with the looming problem of global warming also. so we could plant at least 3 trees in our lifetime or more if we could, then it would be very beneficial both for us and the environment.

I have already gone for it and planted a Neem tree and a 'peepal' tree in ground where i play cricket. I have also started helping my mom out with maintaining the plants which she has planted in our kitchen garden.
I hope that this is a good idea |

A thing that I must specify is how much the building sites new construction plant usually just small low trees of pine of maintenance. After having left a forest trees to build, it is beyond logic to think that you infinitely restore whole with these trees of replacement. It is necessary much greener considered in trees more high-quality which really help the air than we breathe. We have the manner now too the new ones and old developments too much succeeding ground through the United States, more add in forest fires, and you make destroy a good number of green per annum. Many the trees of lower quality are planted behind inside, that really does not provide which nature made before it was destroyed. I think that this must be analyzed in years to come very recent while they continue to leave more forests, or while the cities add trees.
