Re: Eco friendly driver - How you can be an eco-friendly driver
My tips are:
- Drive with the windows closed. Less drag on the car means better fuel economy.
- Drive without the air conditioning if possible. Air conditioning also increases your fuel consumption.
- Avoid heavy acceleration or braking.
- Always drive in the highest gear possible.
- Make sure your tyres are inflated correctly. Under inflated tyres cause more drag on the road, which makes your vehicle less fuel efficient.
- Avoid carrying excessive weight. Lose the roof rack or trailer if you're not using it.
- Don't drive when you can walk or cycle. I see lots of people in my home town drive to the shop only half a mile away. That's just the height of laziness.
