Major problems facing Senegal today
Senegal or the Republic of Senegal is a west African country with a total land area of about 196,722 squared kilometers. Senegal borders the Republic of Mali to the east, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the north and the Republics of Guinea and Guinea-Bissau to the south. Senegal has about 531 kilometers of coastline.
Senegal has a population of about 13 million people with the population growth rate around 2.6%. About 45% of the population live in urban areas. Dakar the capital of Senegal contains about 3 million people. Major ethnic groups such as Wolof, Pular, Serer, Jola and Mandinka make up about 90% of the population while European, Lebanese, and other minor groups make up the remaining 10% of the total population.
Senegal is blessed with abundant natural resources such as phosphates, Iron ore, fish, etc.
Major problems facing Tanzania today
Tanzania, a country in East Africa, is known for; Mount Kilimanjaro, wilder beasts crossing the Serengeti into Kenya and back, the Maasai community also in Kenya, nice cuisine with traditional spices, white sand beaches and the Zanzibar island.
Recently it has been making news but not what the nation is known for this time it's a vice, one that seems to be an impediment in the development of many African states, corruption. Past and current heads of state have made efforts and strong commitments in fighting the vice.
In 1996 the country formed a body of regulations, laws and oversight institutions aimed and at; investigating, preventing and sanctioning corrupt individuals and practices leading to the publication of the Warioba report assessing the state of corruption in the state. It also led to the establishment of Prevention of Corruption Bureau and the Ethics Inspectorate Department.
Madagascar today: Major issues and challenges
Madagascar or the Republic of Madagascar is a beautiful Island in the southern part of Africa (in the Indian Ocean) located at the east of the Republic of Mozambique. Madagascar is the fourth largest Island in the world with a total land area of about 592,800 squared kilometers. Madagascar has a population of about 22 million people with a population growth rate around 3%. The capital of Madagascar Antananarivo contains about 2 million people.
Madagascar or the Republic of Madagascar is a culturally rich Island containing several different ethnic and racial groups. Cotiers, Creole, Comoran, Malayo-Indonesian, French, Indian, etc. are some of the major ethinic and racial groups living in Madagascar today.
Unlike in most other African countries where Christianity and Islam reign supreme, indigenous beliefs reign supreme in Madagascar helping preserve some of our culture and traditions.
Gaddafi a Madman, a Monster, or a King?
"People who don't love me do not deserve to live." These are the words of Libyan dictator and President Muammar Al Gaddafi. The tyrant is also willing to kill those who do not love or agree with him.He calls himself the "King of Kings of Africa" and even almost assumed leadership of the United States of Africa.
But when really did his journey begin? It was in September 1969 when a group of soldiers then led by 27 year old, Muammar Gaddafi, staged a coup d'état against King Idris launching the Libyan Revolution. From then on up to date he has been referred to as the "Brother Leader and Guide of Revolution" by government statements and Official press.
Under him Libya faces a lot of changes; first he changed the national flag from Pan Arab colors to a single green banner to represent the Great Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya.
Major problems facing Ethiopia today
Ethiopia (the land of the great Emperor Haile Selassie) is a land of many lands and a kingdom of many kingdoms. Ethiopia is now a landlocked country located at the north-eastern part of Africa (the horn of Africa). Ethiopia follows Nigeria (Nigeria has a population of about 150 million people) as the second most populous country in all of Africa with a population of about 91 million people with the population growth rate around 3.6%. Ethiopia shares borders with the Republic of Kenya to the south, the Republic of Eritrea to the North (Eritrea used to be part of Ethiopia. The separation made Ethiopia a landlocked country), the Republic of Sudan to the West, and the Republics of Djibouti and Somalia to the East. Ethiopia has a total land area of about 1,100,000 squared kilometers.
Ethiopia is blessed with abundance of natural resources such as gold, Potash, unexploited natural gas or Methane, copper and platinum.
